Depth imaging sensors
There is no conventional camera to switch off.
LASSO senses the room with depth-imaging sensors, not conventional RGB or thermal cameras. It reads shape, distance and movement rather than faces, and collects no directly identifiable imagery for monitoring.
Hardware-level privacy
No conventional video to blur afterwards.
Camera-based systems record video first and blur it afterwards, so an identifiable image existed at some point. LASSO works from depth data instead, which leaves no identifiable video footage to protect, and far less to explain to a family.
Washrooms and private areas
It can go where a camera would not be welcome.
Bedsides and bathrooms, the places where the risk of a fall is highest and the tolerance for surveillance is lowest. LASSO monitors them around the clock without putting a resident's dignity on the table.
